Happiest of Fridays to you! We want to remind all SLOCA parents to enter our Reading Resolutions giveaway for a chance to win a gift card to the school store – all you have to do is take a photo of your current book stack and email it to Down Home. See this post for all the details. The last day to enter is April 6th.
Speaking of reading, one of our parents sent in this cool idea that kids and grown-ups can both try: the Reading Without Walls Challenge. The idea is to explore books that are a little outside your comfort zone by choosing one book from each of these three categories:
1. A book about a character who doesn’t look or live like you.
2. A book about a topic you don’t know much about.
3. A book in a format that you don’t normally read for fun (like a picture book, a chapter book, a graphic novel, or a book in verse).
What a great way to expand your reading horizons! We encourage you to give it a try and add one of each of these types of books to your Reading Resolutions stack. (And then snap a photo and send it to Down Home to enter our giveaway drawing…)
