1. Float – In a pool, or treat everyone to root beer floats, or try one of our family’s favorites – an affogato (which is basically an espresso float!)
2. Flowers – Go on a hike or just go outside and find 10 different kinds of flowers. Make a bouquet, or press them, or give them away.
3. Farm – Visit a local farm! Like the Cal Poly Organic Farm, Avila Valley Barn or Brookshire Farms – know of any others in our county? Share in the comments.
4. Free – Find something to do today that doesn’t cost a cent. Here’s list of 15 Free Things to do in SLO.
5. Funny – Share jokes, watch a family comedy, and enjoy all the funny little things that make your people dear to you. It’s so good for families to laugh together daily! Parents, here’s a humorous version of the ABCs of summer you can giggle over. (But please preview all the way before letting kids read…)
And two SLOCA-related activities that start with F:
Family Read-Aloud – Are you enjoying Time Cat? It’s not too late to start reading it together as a family!
Fun with Friends – Put August 1st on your calendar and join SLOCA friends at the Ravine Waterpark!
Once again, here's a theater opportunity featuring SLOCA students:
Into the Woods, Jr. – Presented by San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre (previously SLO Little Theatre). SLOCA UMS student Sienna Ritter and SLOCA HS student Alyssa Mickey will be performing in this play, which runs July 21-Aug 6, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, with Saturday and Sunday matinees. Tickets can be purchased here.
