A win for SLOCA Grizzlies! |
Once again our SLOCA Grizzlies rank as one of our “wonders” and today we want to celebrate our middle school boys basketball team. As you may have heard at the Family Business Meeting the other night, our Middle School Boys Basketball A Team recently won a few games and came in 3rd overall in a tournament!
SLOCA dad Cade Newman commented about how the season is going so far:
“At the beginning of the year, most of us thought this was going to be a year of growing, learning how to lose well. However, we quickly saw that Coach Matt's experience and high expectations combined with the boys' diligence and latent talent, made for a team with much potential. At this point in the season, while the boys have learned to lose well, lose graciously, they've also learned to build on their past victories and learn from mistakes. A talented coach plus coachable, classy players, is a great combination for success.”
Another parent, Lisa Ann Dillon, added this as well:
Many of these boys are new to basketball but coach Matt has dedicated himself to teaching skills, strategies, and spirit. The boys themselves play with all they have often against kids that are older, bigger and more experienced. They never give up and play with heart and integrity and an ever increasing amount of grit. Go Grizzlies!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Cade and Lisa Ann! And many thanks to Coach Matt, as well as the students and parents who are committed to basketball this season. Our athletics program continues to grow and thrive, and we are so proud of our Grizzlies both on and off the court!
