Happy Friday! Today we bring you news that truly belongs in the “Wednesday Wonder” category, but we wanted to share it with you sooner than that…
Arabella Roberts is an Intermediate 4 SLOCA student who has been chosen to be San Luis Obispo's Youth Honoree for the Walk to Cure Arthritis this year! The walk will take place this Saturday, May 21 (tomorrow!) at Cal Poly (Dexter Lawn), and Arabella will be giving her speech during the opening ceremony at 9am.
What being the “Youth Honoree” means, is that she's been invited to make speeches at different events to raise awareness for this disease and how it affects many children. The first speaking engagement was held at Upper Crust for the Walk's “kick-off party.” She gave an amazing speech that she wrote herself… which SLOCA definitely prepared her for! She was confident, spoke clearly, and knew exactly when to pause at the right moments.
