Want to find unique and beautiful gifts that will appeal to your classical family?
You’ve been hearing about our Holiday Faire for weeks, and now the time has come! Starting tomorrow, our school store will be hosting this 3-day shopping extravaganza. In case you don’t have a flyer or weekly update handy, the dates again are:
Wednesday, December 2, 5-8:30 pm
Thursday, December 3, 5-8:30 pm (Movie Night)
Friday, December 4, 9am-5pm
Here’s the link to the flyer for a few more details, but today we want to give you an easy Ten Reasons to Shop SLOCAL at the Holiday Faire:
1. Quality – You know that everything we purchase for our store is high quality with educational value. We have pored over lists and catalogs and carefully selected games, books, and toys we think our families will truly treasure.
2. Variety – You should see all the items we have selected to sell this year! We have worked hard to make sure there's something for everyone on your list, from grandma to your teachers to your children to your dad. We will have plenty of the things you've come to rely on the store for carrying, like pretty books and art supplies, but we will have so much more available during the faire! We are transforming the whole library into a store!
3. Gift lists – We have compiled some fantastic ideas and gathered them together in these handy lists! Click for links to:

4. Childcare – Drop your younger kids (ages 3-7) in Little Wonders to play, or in the MPR for pizza and a movie! (Thursday night is movie night.) Your children will be having a blast with their buddies, and shopping for holiday gifts has never been so peaceful!
5. Gift wrapping – On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, gift wrapping will be provided (for a donation) so you can check one more thing off your list! We've heard the gift wrap is going to be especially lovely, too!
6. Fun – Have fun shopping with your SLOCA friends! We will have hot cocoa and other treats, and you can count on a cozy, enjoyable shopping experience.
7. Convenience – Even if you can’t make it for one of the special Holiday Faire dates, you are already coming to school regularly, so grab a cup of coffee in the Den and shop without having to drive all over town, fight for parking, and deal with retail crowds and all the craziness that often accompanies this time of year.
8. Support our school – Our school store directly profits our school. You can feel great doing your holiday shopping in the store, knowing that your money is being well spent – directly contributing to SLO Classical Academy.
9. Competitive prices – We do the very best we can to offer about 10% off retail prices for most of our items. We do not artificially hike up prices in order to make a massive profit – we are just trying to cover our costs, while helping to financially sustain our wonderful school.
10. Showcase SLOCA – This is a great, no-pressure opportunity for you to bring your friends and family members to our school, and show them what makes this place so special. They can get a peek at some of our rich curriculum, get a feel for our warm, close community atmosphere, and maybe be enticed to come to an upcoming parent preview night. We think shopping in our holiday faire will be a special, magical experience, and we hope you will feel proud of your school and invite everyone you know to join in the fun!
