Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Throwback Summer: Work Day 2013

{all photos by Brandy Potts}

THIS Saturday, August 22, is our annual All School Work Day. Although we’ve had a few smaller work days this summer, this is the day we rally together as a whole school and tackle all the projects that need to be finished to spruce up our campus and get it ready for the beginning of the school year.

We start the day by meeting our teachers, then move on to helping them get their rooms (and the rest of the school) prepared for the year. Our work days are a fun way to connect with other families while making our campus shine, and the sense of accomplishment at the end is huge! There's also a pizza lunch mid-day. We definitely need your help to make it all happen, so please join us on Saturday:

8:30-9:30 – Meet your teachers

9:30-2:00 – All School Work Day

Meanwhile, here's a throwback post with adorable photos from our Work Day two years ago…

Magical Moments: Work Day

Happy Labor Day! Today we’re highlighting just a few of the many magical moments from our All School Work Day. We deeply appreciate every one of you who labored to help beautify our campus and get it ready for the school year. As you can see, the day was full of fun as well as work! Enjoy your day off from school today, and enjoy the photos…  (thank you, Brandy Potts!)
