With one more glorious week of break left, some of us might be itching to get a little school prep done. Others, not so much… but no matter, whenever or if ever you feel the urge to gather resources to use on your home days this trimester, here’s a starting point with a few ideas. See last trimester’s resource links as well, since many of them can be used all year long. We hope you can use a few of these, for school or just for fun:
- A Battle of Hastings England – Normandy family tree
- English words that come from French – there are about 10,000 English words that come from French, all because those Normans took over England in 1066!
- Map of Medieval England layered over a current map – this is interesting, although a little small, but you can zoom in if you want to see a particular place on the map. You can also order a print version of just the Medieval Map here.
- A thorough list of the Code of Chivalry
- Picture of the Manor System – this is the picture that was shown during our history and literature training last month.

- The Robin Hood Project: Artists and Images – a large database of Robin Hood illustrations by various artists.
- If you like to put up posters in your homeschool area, here’s a set of 2 Middle Ages posters.
- View one of the copies of the Magna Carta up close.
