Join us for a fun-filled day of instruction, manipulatives, & more!
Have you found the way your student is learning math differs from the way you learned? Have you come across a strategy or problem you just couldn’t figure out? On Friday, December 7th, your SLOCA Singapore Math team will lead you through a one-day training that will help you support your students at home, from kinder all the way through Algebra 1! It is our goal to give all of you the tools we wield in the classroom so you can approach your students with confidence and understanding. This training is recommended to all parents with students K-Algebra, and will benefit all students—not just those who are struggling!
Your SLOCA team will give you an overview of Number Sense at each level and help you see how this program fits together sequentially. By the end of the training, you will comprehend the value of having students visualize and verbalize, based on the most current research.
At minimum, we recommend you attend both your student’s current level and the level above, but encourage you to attend as sessions many as possible!
“The sequence of topics in Singapore Math has been carefully constructed based upon child development theory,” says Jeffery Thomas, president of Singapore Math Inc. “The means to mastery is problem solving, and the beauty of the approach is that the majority of students are well prepared to tackle increasingly difficult topics…in middle school.”
