ADRIANA GIACOLETTI
High School Humanities Teacher
Adriana Giacoletti has been teaching High School Humanities (History and English) at SLOCA since 2021. Growing up in a military family, she considers her home everywhere and nowhere. She spent her early years in Germany, went to primary school in southern California, and graduated high school in Pennsylvania. She then completed a BA in English, with a minor in Biblical and Theological Studies, from Biola University, and a MA in English from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. After teaching college writing at Cal Poly, Adriana made the move across the street to SLOCA High School, encouraged in part by positive experiences with current and former SLOCA students. Thus far she has enjoyed the high school’s rich interdisciplinary curriculum and relationships. If Adriana had a second home on the Central Coast, it would be Banner Coffee Shop in Arroyo Grande, where she is a regular (and married to the co-owner). To expand her education, she would love to one day take an herbalism class to learn more about holistic health and the lost art of foraging.
