AMANDA AINSWORTH

Executive Business Director

Amanda oversees marketing, some revenue channels, and family recruitment and retention. She grew up in Orange, CA near the Orange Circle (which happens to be one of her favorite places in the world). She received her BS in Business Administration from Cal Poly and before working at SLOCA, she worked at an international nonprofit called Lifewater. Amanda and her husband attended their first SLOCA Parent Preview Night when their first child was 6 months old, back when Tiny and Little Wonders didn't exist! They had heard about SLOCA from friends and wanted to learn about classical education. After that night, they made plans to send their kids here. She wanted to work at SLOCA because she is very passionate about seeing children love to learn, families thrive, and our community flourish. She believes that SLOCA really does make all of those happen. She also believes in the classical education approach, and has already seen it have a big impact on her kids. In her own elementary school days, Amanda’s mom cultivated her passion for lifelong learning as they sat around our kitchen table memorizing poems, reading stories, and writing together. In college, Amanda took a "narrative based" history course and wondered why all history wasn't taught that way. Even now, her love of story keeps her motivated in business, school, and at home. It compels her to learn, to open her mind, and to keep eagerly pursuing the good, the true, and the beautiful. You can find Amanda taking long walks, getting lost in an audiobook, baking sourdough bread and filling her home with friends and family.
