ARKADY HANJIEV

High School Math Teacher

Arkady (Art) Hanjiev, a Fresno native, earned his B.S. in Mathematics from Fresno State University and his master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Fresno Pacific University. He brings more than 20 years of teaching experience, including six years at the high school level and fifteen years at the community college level, to SLOCA. Arkady joined our team in 2019 and currently teaches Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Calculus at the high school. Drawn to classical education, he values a system that allows students to grow and learn at a pace appropriate to their level. His passion for teaching was inspired in part by seeking the best way to educate his own children. Outside the classroom, Art can often be found hiking and enjoying the ocean. He loves sharing his enthusiasm for math while encouraging students to explore and challenge themselves.
