Chuck Masterson
Assistant High School Director
Chuck grew up in Woodland, California and received his BS in Physical Education and Health and his MS in Education Administration. For years he was a High School Principal in LA, and then he retired. However, he has come out of retirement to return to education because he feels that he has so much more to give and that he can contribute to SLOCA as an administrator. He loves how classical education challenges students daily to think creatively and critically. He also loves the fact that students are taught to be thinkers and doers. This brings students into a greater understanding about life, not only in the present but in the future. He believes that Classical education provides and nurtures the greatest learning environment and empowers students for success. As interim director, Chuck will be deeply involved in student learning and teacher support. He will be visiting classes frequently to observe teacher instruction and student learning and will also be directly involved in the day-to-day campus operations. Chuck was in college when he realized he wanted to be a high school teacher. To him, education is not a career, it's a calling. He only wants to be the most effective school administrator and make the maximum contribution to the success of SLOCA. In addition to this, he wants to learn from the teachers and staff and be influential in the professional growth and development of the faculty both personally and professionally.
