James Rey

Athletic Coordinator

SLOCA is a family affair for James Rey. A Southern California native, he relocated to the Central Coast to attend Cal Poly, where he earned his B.S. in Social Sciences. In 2005, he and his wife, Wendy, enrolled their son, Mitchell, in the newly founded SLO Classical Academy. Wendy joined the school's staff early on and is currently a middle school teacher, while Mitchell now works as the high school student life director. Over the years, James has volunteered for SLOCA in various capacities, including coaching high school baseball. He officially joined the staff as our athletics coordinator in 2025. When not at SLOCA, James enjoys honing his cooking skills and plans on traveling around the globe with Wendy.
