Katherine Worhunsky

Intermediate Teacher

Katherine Worhunsky has been surrounded by teachers and classrooms her entire life. Growing up in the mountains near Santa Cruz, she attended Happy Valley Elementary School—a very small community school with many similarities to the classical education model—while her mother worked as a kindergarten teacher. Katherine majored in Liberal Arts at Cal Poly and received her Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from Cal State TEACH (Fresno). Most recently, she worked as an aide in second grade and TK (Transitional Kindergarten) classrooms, in addition to serving as an Academic Intervention Teacher. For Katherine, SLOCA's dedication to educating the whole child, promoting classic literature, maintaining small class sizes, and making thoughtful use of technology stood out. In her free time, Katherine volunteers with the San Luis Obispo Animal Shelter caring for neonatal kittens and puppies, and dreams of taking her family to Sicily and Malta.
