Kristina Carroll

SLOCA loves grandparents, and so does Kristina Carroll. Her sense of curiosity was first inspired by her grandma, a retired teacher, and her grandpa, an avid learner. As a child living just outside of Sacramento, her grandpa encouraged asking questions, and she legitimately believed "Grandpa knows everything.” When she was 16, she finally stumped him with a question, and he replied, "I don't know, but I will find out." This enthusiasm for education lit a fire in her for learning. Kristina majored in history and minored in music at Cal Poly before she joined the SLOCA team in 2025. The people, the community, and the emphasis on history and discussion all drew her to our school. Her plan for the future? Read more books!
