Valerie Neuschwander believes that SLOCA has a great story to tell, a story that she is proud to be a part of. Before joining the staff in 2017 as merchandising assistant, Valerie’s story went like this: Sometime during her eldest’s kindergarten year, she noticed that “my curious child that truly loved learning about everything really did not like going to school - and that just didn't sit well with me.” Drawn instead to the “richness and depth” of classical education at SLOCA, Valerie and her family have come to value “the attention paid to goodness, truth and beauty and how these make you whole, not just education as a means to an end or the latest fad.” (I’m sold!) She grew up in Pleasanton, CA, and holds a degree in business and marketing from Cal Poly, SLO. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, running, and reading. She is also an aspiring calligrapher and water-color painter.
