Vivian Dai

MS Latin Teacher

Vivian Dai's love of ancient history and literature is, well, almost ancient history. Growing up in San Jose, Vivian started checking out key texts like D'Aulaire's Book of Greek Myths and the Percy Jackson series from the library as a young child. Her passion for the ancient world continued at Boston University, where she earned her B.A. in Ancient Greek and Latin with a Minor in the Core Curriculum, and later at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she completed her M.A.T. in Latin and Classical Humanities. Prior to joining the SLOCA team in 2026, she taught college-level Latin classes at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and tutored for Lindamood-Bell in addition to other private tutoring companies. Vivian believes SLOCA's intentional curriculum equips students with skills they'll need not only to succeed in higher education, but in life in general. In her free time, Vivian enjoys reading Latin authors from the medieval and Renaissance eras. This year, she's hoping to improve her sewing skills.
