Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Raphael, Savonarola, and Don Quixote

Happy Monday! Can you believe it is already week 6 and this is the last day of September? The weeks are flying by. Before we get to this week’s Monday Mix-ins we wanted to remind you that Picture Days are this week: Wednesday, Oct. 2nd for Track A and Thursday, Oct. 3 for Track B. Start practicing those smiles!  Perhaps, if anyone is having trouble smiling, you could read a chapter or two of Don Quixote before you send them off to school. He sure has a way of making us grin.

Now on to the mix-ins…

We have quite a “mix” to offer you today. From strict Savonarola the reformer to renowned Raphael the artist to daring Don Quixote the knight, we’ve got a little something for everyone.  Happy homeschooling!
