HISTORY DAY! Our big finale to the school year was a rousing success. We gathered together as a school – ALL ages from kindergarten to high school – to experience our “Revolution Revelation.” This was a chance to celebrate our year of learning about American history. Our patriotic teams (Liberty Leaders, Freedom Falcons, Declaration Dynamos, Washington’s Warriors and so on) were made up of all ages as well – with our SLOCA high school students acting as leaders for all of the younger team members. They proceeded through several “stations” that included activities which might have been enjoyed in earlier times, such as Tug-o-War, Hopscotch, dancing, and horseshoes. We ended with recitations from each level, and a big finish performance of “You’ll be Back” by “King George,” also known as one of our talented high school students Kaitlyn Spann.
