Semper discentes is one of our mottos here at SLO Classical Academy and it means “always learning together.” Summer is coming and it’s the perfect time for you and your family to learn something new. Sewing, scrapbooking, golf, tennis, cooking, writing, roller blading, knitting–the possibilities are endless! Or, if it seems overwhelming to begin learning a new skill, start simpler and pick one thing: the perfect roasted chicken, a new song on the piano or the guitar, memorize a poem yourself, change the oil in your car. Pick something for yourself, encourage your kids to do the same or choose something new to learn as a family (the states and capitals? our presidents?)
If we tell our children that learning never stops, then we better go ahead and live it. What will you choose this summer?
Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.
Semper discentes—always learning together.
