Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Are you thinking about summer yet, looking for ways to provide fun, meaningful activities and experiences for your kids? It’s not too early to be thinking ahead, and let us suggest our excellent SLOCA Summer Camps! This summer we’ve got some exciting, hands-on camps planned for all ages, with a “Novel Adventures” theme that will bring stories to life in a way never experienced before! Options include:

  • For our 3 1/2 year old (must be potty-trained) to entering Kindergarten students, explore the magical world of fairytales at our Preschool Fairytale Camp.
  • For students entering 1st through 3rd grade, come travel to Neverland with Peter Pan.
  • And for students entering 4th through 9th grade, join us on an undercover mission with The Mysterious Benedict Society.

For each of the above camps, you can choose one or two weeks – each week is a new adventure:

Week 1 – July 8-11

Week 2 – July 15-18
