San Luis Obispo Classical Academy San Luis Obispo Classical Academy

Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Semper discentes—always learning together.

Does this look inviting right about now? We can almost taste summer as we enter the glorious month of June this weekend… woo hoo! Yes, there are still progress reports to write, assignments to finish up, and History Day to prepare for, but take some time this weekend to rest and rejuvenate. Treasure some “Free by Five” time with family by putting electronics out of sight for a little while. Enjoy the anticipation of summer!

Here are a few events happening around town:

The SLO Botanical Garden is hosting: Kids’ Science Day, An Afternoon of Exploration! Saturday, June 1 from 1:00-3:00 PM.

The San Luis Obispo Greek Festival takes place this weekend, June 1-2, at the SLO Mission Plaza. Click the above link for more info.

It’s not too late to join the 20th Annual Talley Fun Run, happening this Sunday, June 2. Go to the website for more details.

And one final item you might enjoy – Klondike Pizza in the village of Arroyo Grande has Sing Along Nights the first and third Saturdays of the month. Fun for the whole family! Here’s their website for more info.
