Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Magical Moments: Our Little Wonders

Down Home welcomes you to another week! We have some precious Magical Moment photos to share with you from our Little Wonders classrooms, and we also want to highlight one of our favorite monthly events – coming up next Wednesday, October 9th:

Preschool Discovery Hour here at SLO Classical Academy… it's so much more than story-time!

This special program combines literature, science investigations, music, discussion, and crafting to bring a different topic alive for your pre-school child each month. Hosted by Denise Indvik on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, Preschool Discovery Hour is geared for children ages 2 1/2 through 5, and is free and open to the public. We meet in the SLOCA library from 9:00-10:00am, and spend the last few minutes of each session exploring our delightful pre-school classroom. Mark your calendars for the following dates and themes:

Wednesday, October 9th… all about trees!

Wednesday, November 13th… all about spiders!

Wednesday, December 11th… all about cookies!
