What’s for Dinner: Freeze Ahead Lunch Ideas

I don’t know about you, but when the weather cools I typically enjoy being in the kitchen more, and want to maximize my time there. When I came across the following blog post with recipes to freeze ahead for school lunches, I just knew that come fall, I’d be all over that.

So now fall is here and I’m trying some of these ideas, and thought I’d pass them on to other parents on the lookout for school lunch tips. You can certainly take the idea of freezing ahead and apply it to many other recipes, but here are a few from 100 Days of Real Food to get you started:

10 Recipes to Freeze for School Lunches

I’ve been successful with freezing and packing waffles, muffins, soup, beans, and smoothies. Next I’m going to try her spaghetti and meatballs.

If you have any tips on freezing ahead for school lunches, or if you try any of the ideas above and have something to share, leave a comment below or email Down Home!
