Do you know about this? If you’re looking for ways to encourage tech-free time in your family, the fifth annual National Day of Unplugging starts tonight, from sundown Friday, March 7, to sundown, Saturday, March 8. It’s a chance to focus on reconnecting with others by putting away your smartphones, tablets, and computers for 24 hours.
Easier said than done, right? But what a great way to slow down and spend quality time together, and to show our kids that we don’t need to be attached to our devices all the time. Perhaps we can start a new tradition during these 24 hours, and make it something to look forward to each year.
Here's a quick article on 6 health reasons why you should spend some time tech-free, with a bonus list of tips on how to unplug.
Whatever you do this weekend, don’t forget to set your clocks ahead on Saturday night! Daylight Saving time starts this weekend. Have a great one!
DON'T FORGET: Please send in photos of you and/or your loved ones in SLOCA gear out and about for our “SLOCA Sightings” gallery page! We really want to get this going, and you'll be entered to win a gift certificate to the school store. Get out there and show your SLOCA style, take some selfies, then send us the pics! The deadline for the contest is March 18th.
