Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Magical Moments: Playdate with Mrs. Indvik

Remember those amazing teacher-led experiences that were up for auction last trimester? Today we have a Magical Moment to share with you from one of them: Mrs. Indvik’s playdate at her house.

On a sunny Monday morning in March, fourteen current and former students from Mrs. Indvik's Junior Kindergarten class gathered at her home for a morning of play, crafts, snacks, and stories. The trampoline, tree fort, and sand-box were favorite activities, but the kids also loved touring Mrs. Indvik's house, seeing Legos all over the floor of her son's room, and making a “rocking bird” craft around her kitchen table. Many moms stayed to visit, and Mrs. Turner was also there to lend a helping hand. It was a great morning for everyone!
