Anyone in the mood for some colorful play? The blog Play at Home Mom has wonderful ideas for creative play and this one shows how to make mini volcanoes. This might be fun to try today (while reminiscing about Mt. Vesuvius) if you happen to have a few simple items at home – all you need are some plastic cups, baking soda, vinegar, and liquid watercolors.
Of course, you could let the kids form volcanoes out of clay or play-doh first, with a small cup inserted into the hole, if you want to take more time and get fancy with it. Or check out all kinds of volcano craft ideas online. We like the above idea because it's simple and quick to make, and not such a huge “project.” Kids of all ages love this basic experiment!
Have a great day at home… and join us if you can tonight at Kreuzberg at 7:00 for the Hanging Lantern Review Spring Reading and Release Party!
