Back in December, the UMS and High School students attended a Social Media meeting, led by a former Social Media marketer. She shared with the kids a brief history of social networking and how online etiquette developed. She discussed the circumstances in which networks like Instagram and Facebook can be used strategically to build a strong public reputation, as well as the times when it should perhaps be avoided altogether!
The following resource was given to the kids, and we thought parents might like to be able to access another copy, or that parents of younger children might appreciate it as well – click on the link below:
Social Media Checklist
This helpful and practical checklist has questions to ask yourself before posting anything, and a list of good reasons to post. It's an excellent tool that can spark a discussion with your kids who are using social media. We hope you find it useful for your family.
