Down Home wants to share a special moment that was sent in by one of our SLOCA families to the new [email protected] email:
Our family experienced a wonder-filled evening a couple of weeks ago. We had built a bonfire in our fire pit. Since two of the kids were working on poetry recitations just then, we asked them to practice and our Intermediate student recited Song of Sherwood by Alfred Noyes and our Primary student recited the poem she was working on. After that, we decided we enjoyed the poetry by firelight so much, we pulled out the book and began reading various selections. It was simple, spontaneous, but full of wonder and magic just the same. Thank you SLOCA because we wouldn’t be memorizing poetry on our own!

Don’t you love this? Thanks for taking the time to send this in, Newmans! We hope others will use the [email protected] email too – we want to hear about the wonderful things happening in your lives with your children, just like we shared at our table time at the Family Business Meeting. We know those little stories happen all the time and hope you’ll take a moment to share them with us!
