Age: going into 1st grade-6th grade
At SLOCA, we believe summer is meant for good old-fashioned fun in the sun! Campers will enjoy a mix of crafts, games, a movie, popcorn, snow-cones, and plenty of outdoor play. Throughout the week, students will also take part in off-site adventures designed to explore the unique nature and geography of the Central Coast.
During our time together, campers will split their days between off-campus exploration and on-campus activities such as water games, arts and crafts, and hands-on nature education. Each week will conclude with a special celebration, giving campers a chance to let loose, play, and celebrate a great week of summer fun.
Week 1: July 6th-10th
Week 1 kicks off our adventure camp with a week full of exploration and creativity. Campers will take part in an age-appropriate hike as we explore the rich biodiversity of the Central Coast. When on campus, students will rotate through a variety of engaging activities, including guided crafts, team games, and delightfully messy challenges designed to encourage creativity and play. We’ll wrap up the week with a celebratory park day featuring snow cones, a bounce house, and water games—an exciting way to end a fantastic week together.
Please note: Campers will occasionally watch short educational or inspirational videos during the week. We typically include one movie per week to give students time to relax and recharge.
Week 2: July 13–17
Week 2 keeps the momentum going with new adventures and beloved camp traditions. Students will again enjoy an age-appropriate hike focused on discovering the biodiversity of the Central Coast, paired with hands-on learning and outdoor exploration. On campus, campers will dive into a rotating mix of crafts, games, and energetic (and sometimes messy!) activities that make summer camp memorable.
The week concludes with another end-of-week celebration at a local park, complete with snow cones, a bounce house, and water games.
Please note: Campers will occasionally watch short educational or inspirational videos during the week. We typically include one movie per week to give students time to relax and recharge.
Important Location Information for 1st-8th Grade Camps:
This summer, our camps for 1st-8th grade will be hosted at SLOCA High School while our lower school supplies are transitioned to our new campus. To make the most of this season, we are offering optional off-campus lunch outings to local playgrounds in San Luis Obispo. Camp staff will safely transport students to and from the parks during the lunch break.
Families who prefer their child to remain on campus may opt out of off-campus lunches. In this case, students will enjoy supervised outdoor play using a variety of games and equipment on the high school campus.
